This box contains over 300 3D Printed portraits of people for the 3D Printed Luna Park exhibit. I better not lose it!
Hope to see you at World Makerfaire New York this weekend!
And this is the whole Makerfaire Crew scanned by me last year. Now that’s a Mini Makerfaire!
James Taylor from Shocked and Amazed is in town for the Congress of Curious Peoples at Coney Island USA and I had the chance to scan him in his Victorian garb. I’m quite pleased with the results- see the raw scan on Vine here, and the finished 3D printed portrait below.
The Velvet Crayon is visiting Coney Island for Super Freak weekend and I had to do a 3D portrait of him.
I captured him using the 3D Systems Sense. The scans from the sense are great but I find there’s way too much decimation when I use the built in solidify function, so I fix the model with other software.
The scan was missing an ear from his mask, so I repaired that. The cleaned up file is ready for printing.
The printed file is ready for min my the next morning!
Everyone’s favorite sexy sword swallower was out at Coney Island for alumni weekend and I had the opportunity to do a portrait of her. Enjoy!
I can hardly wait to print this one!
It’s been an emotional roller coaster ride this month! Kickstarter has definitely been an adventure, but I’m glad to have made our goal and looking forward to meeting everybody who has supported it. There is a little less than a day left if you still want to back us to be a part of this great art project: http://kck.st/10KIml2
In the meantime here’s a gallery of some portraits I’ve made over the last month- Enjoy!
