Coney Island Scan-A-Rama

The Great Fredini’s Coney Island Scan-A-Rama was a portrait studio for the 21st century! In the grand tradition of amusement part portraiture, but updated for the era of 3D printing, the world’s first popup 3D portrait studio appeared in Coney Island and at Makerfaires throughout 2013 – 2017. Subjects visiting the studio commissioned their very own action figure by being 3D scanned and received a 3D print of themselves or their family. Select scans from the project have been posted to the project’s page on Thingiverse.
